Mastodon has announced a new vinyl version of their latest album 'Marrow Deep', a limited edition of 170 copies featuring an actual Mastodon fossil.
This album was produced by Waxworks Records with the help of the University of Georgia's Department of Geology, and used 'bone dust' made from ground up fossilized mastodon teeth received as a gift 20 years ago.
Troy Sanders and Brann Dailor explained that they had been dreaming of making an album with these teeth for over 20 years, and that they carried out the project through Loma Vista.
